A small gracefully shaped tree with open framework. The Maori name meaning "many wetas" - refers to wetas living in the holes left by Puriri moth larvae. Abundant white flowers in spring followed by seed capsules which are enyoyed by birds. Good in damp shaded sites. Quick growing. Can be used as a street or shade tree.
